Description Disc 1 (2011)

24.5 - 26.5 cm. In comparison to /Crypturellus parvirostris a deeper chocolate brown above on the back, wing coverts and inner remiges: neck and breast tinged grayish: head gray turning whitish on throat: neck, breast and sides bluish gray, abdomen paler, crissum light buff with dark markings, feathers of flanks brown or black, narrowly edged white: iris brown: bill and legs dark purplish red. The immature has wings with transverse black and white marks.

Throughout, e.g. <8E>PE Jacupiranga. Occurs mostly in inland and is rare in the litoral.
