Two records of the same places

The discs stored their geography twice, in two different forms, and the two were recovered separately: a set of place descriptions (habitat, directions, citations) and a structured locality register (state, country, stored coordinate text). On coordinates and maps

Coordinates are shown exactly as the discs store them and are never converted to a modern point, plotted, or corrected. Some places have no recovered coordinate at all, and some have coordinate text that cannot be read as a valid position; those states are shown rather than smoothed over. No place on this site is plotted on a map. The work's own historical maps are published as images.
