Description Disc 1 (2011)

20 - 32 cm. Head and neck brown to light slate gray, shading to grayish white on throat: back, wings and tail light reddish brown: underparts light olivaceous brown: crissum buff, the feathers with dark centers: flanks cinnamon brown narrowly edged with white: iris brown: legs and bill red.

Song accelerating ti ti ti ti notes for about 7 seconds, then a lower ro ro ro tirrrrr .

Behavior Disc 1 (2011)

Forages on the ground of dry dense forest, scrub, road sides.

Habitat and status Disc 1 (2011)

Apparently increasing due to deforestation. Occurs in dense dry forest, open brushy areas, cultured land.

Distribution Disc 1 (2011)

Throughout but not in coastal areas. Found in the Paraiba valley.
