Heinz Remold

Dr. Heinz Remold has been interested in the biology and systematics of South American birds since 1968. He has since repeatedly visited Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and most frequently Brazil. Since 1988 he has worked intermittently in Manaus, and later in Sao Paulo, Brazil and his frequent visits to the Sao Paulo area have kindled his interest in the birds of South East Brazil. Since then he has conducted more than fifteen visits to the area around Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, to Minas Gerais and to the Matto Grosso studying birds and particularly bird vocalizations. All of the recordings in this current work that are not attributed to others are his.<N When he"s not doing ornithological work, Heinz is a Professor of Medicine M.D., Ph.D. at Harvard University and Brigham and Women"s Hospital, Boston. He works in immunological research on the defense of the host against tuberculosis.
