Checklists

Checklists

43 lists of birds, shipped on the discs themselves. Most are tied to a place — the birds you might expect at Intervales, or around Angra dos Reis. Others are the work's own master lists of what each disc covered.

What a checklist was, on the disc

The original program worked from one active checklist at a time: choosing a checklist changed which birds appeared in its species list. That mechanism is gone here — every bird on this site is reachable from Birds whichever list it belongs to. The lists are published because they are historical documents in their own right: a record of what the author judged to occur where.

26142 member rows across all lists. 5 compiled or regional list(s) are tied to no single place; 2 list key(s) are used by more than one place, which is a disagreement in the sources rather than a fact about the birds; and 4 key(s) referenced by a place have no recovered list behind them. The unresolved geographic evidence page cross-references all of these, and the pointer-identity reference lists species pointers that appear in lists but fall outside the 471 accepted accounts.
