Description Disc 1 (2011)

42 cm. Bill serrated: mask and small spot on breast black: head and underparts rufous: back green: tail long, green to blue green with or without a raquet tip.

Takes prey from vegetation. Forages from the subcanopy down.

Througout. In Estado S<C4>o Paulo reported from <8E>Vassununga, Aracacu, Barreiro rico, Campininha, Conde do Pinhal, Broa, Fazenda Paraiso, Icapara, Sete Barras, Cananeia, Ubatumirim, Pedregulho, Buritizal, Sales Oliveira, Fazenda Santa Cecilia, Alto do Ribeira, Fazenda Intervales ^119 .

Taxonomy notes Disc 1 (2011)

The Blue-crowned Motmot Momotus momota can be found extralimital in dry forest and mata ciliar in the NE of the Estado S<C4>o Paulo. It has a long and raquet-tipped tail, is green above and greenish suffused with cinnamon below and has a black crown bordered by turquoise and a black mask. It has a different call HOO..du..du or fast hu..hu..hu..hu..hu..hu..hu.. .
