Description Disc 1 · 2011
8-9 cm. A small hermit with rump and underparts rufous; a narrow black band across the lower breast; the tail evenly graduated, coppery, the feathers tipped cinnamon, the central pair sometimes with white tips.
The female is paler below and lacks the black chest band.
