Description Disc 1 · 2011
14-15 cm. Sexes very similar, but the head of the male is less spotted than that of the female; forepart of crown and orbital region chestnut; dorsal plumage olive-gray to ochraceous brown with numerous small oval white spots, which are bordered with black; sides of neck and underparts tawny buff, throat and center of abdomen white; iris orange or red.
The immature is uniform gray brown above; white spots on the wing coverts, shoulders, upper side and neck sides; below creamy white with diffuse ochraceous band across breast and along flanks.
