18 cm. Only distinguishable in the field from /Myiarchus swainsoni by its vocalization. Frequently somewhat paler with less yellow on the belly and with the bill completely black. A characteristic "purrrr". Perching in or on top of trees at all heights, an outward-hover gleaner and fruit eater ^74 .
