12.5 cm. Similar to /Myiobius mastacalis . Above olive-green with a conspicuous sulphur-yellow rump. Long black graduated tail. In contrast to /Myiobius mastacalis the throat and chest are buffy-yellow. Belly pale yellow. A highly pitched, repeated zit note. Forages in the lower growth of drier woodland. In the interior of gallery forest and drier dense forest. Rare and endangered by habitat loss. The Serra do Mar rare , Serra Mantiqueira<8E>and<8E>Serra dos Org<C4>os ^15 , Petropolis, Teresopolis ^40 .
