12 cm. Iris dark brown. Bill usually all blackish. Above olive-yellow with a yellow eye-stripe and cheeks. Wings black with two yellow wing bars and yellow margins to the flight feathers. Below yellow, the breast washed olive. Note that /Capsiempis flaveola has different jizz and voice. Call is a high " zeeiiip.....zeeiiip......" increasing in pitch, that sometimes sounds almost like two syllables "zeee-iiiip". Forages in the canopy of lower trees and bushes. Open forest, woodland borders, gardens and gallery forest. Reported by Pinto ^40 from Rio de Janeiro State Petropolis, Rio Muriae, Cardoso Moreira and also cited by Forrester ^15 .
