Description Disc 1 · 2011
23-25.5 cm. The adult's top of head to mantle and back is olive brown, the back blotched with sepia; scapulars and inner flight feathers brown, edged with olive; wing coverts and outer webs of primaries turquoise blue, inner webs fuscous; rump, upper tail coverts and tail sooty brown; underside including the wing coverts, white; breast, sides, sides of neck and sides of head pale turquoise blue; iris reddish brown; bill and frontal shield pale green; feet yellow.
The juvenile is lighter brown on top with no blue on the side of the neck and less blue in the wings.
