Description Disc 1 · 2011
46-60 cm. The adult has a gray, brown or rufous crown and nape becoming paler on sides of the head; hindneck and upper side dark olive brown to rufescent brown, the primaries uniform brown; lower throat to breast grayish or rufescent brown to dark olive brown, the feathers very conspicuously edged with white; lower breast and abdomen white or drab gray, to cinnamon gray; flanks, tibiae and under tail coverts darker, often fulvous brown or rufous; outer tail feathers with extensive rufous tips; iris reddish brown; bare skin of throat light brick red; bill gray.
The immature is less olivaceous above; light markings of neck and breast buffy.

Mostly extralimital. To be expected in the very south of Estado São Paulo. Recorded from Ilha do Cardoso. Might spread further to the north into southern Estado São Paulo.
