Description Disc 1 (2011)

8-11 cm. Bill straight, medium sized, black. The male"s cap is glittering violet-blue: upperparts dark golden green: underparts brilliant green: undertail coverts greenish to blue, laterally gray brown: tail steel blue, forked.<nThe female lacks the blue cap: underparts buff: tail only slightly forked, the inner rectrices metallic green, the outer rectrices steel blue with whitsh tips. <nThe immature male has a turquoise blue cap with or without scattered violet blue feathers: throat feathers with whitish subterminal bars: underside with grayish areas.
