Description Disc 1 (2011)

10-12 cm. A hermit with a long curved bill: above dark bronzy green, below dull cinnamon: cental tail feathers bronze with a narrow white tip, the rest with basal half cinnamon rufous, distal half black, tip white: the female paler throat and upper breast, with a whitish superciliary and malar stripe and shorter wings and tail.<nThe immature has the feathers of the upperparts ochraceous and pale tips to the remiges

Uncommon in the understory of primary and secondary rain forest, dryer forest, gallery forest, swamps, shrubby areas and forest edge, bamboo, cerrado and plantations.
