Description Disc 1 · 2011
34 cm. Facial disc blackish, the eyebrows and margins of the disc speckled white; body blackish brown, the upper parts with narrow and wavy white bars, the underside with more regular white bars that widen slightly downwards; tail black with four narrow white bands and a broad white tip; tarsi featherd, barred; iris orange to brown; bill and toes orange yellow.
The immature is browner, heavily barred.
