Description Disc 1 (2011)

27 cm. The adult is grayish brown above, buff below: crown and nape grayish brown: a black mask through the eye and ear coverts: narrow gray band down side of neck: long tail bronzy above, blackish below with broad white tips: eye ring gray or olive yellow: iris black: bill black: feet slate gray.<nThe immature is duller: crown and nape brown: wings sometimes rufous, the wing converts with indistinct buff tips: tail without white tips.

Song ku..ku..ku..ku..ku..kolp..kolp..kolp.. Also a fast dry rattle drrrrrrrrrrr.. .

Relatively frequently encountered in deciduous forest, gallery forest, coffee plantations, lowland forest edges, thickets, mangroves, ranchland. coastal plains, lake borders.

Throughout inland Estado S<C4>o Paulo and Estado Rio de Janeiro. Close to the coast in Estado S<C4>o Paulo less regularly encountered, e.g at <8E>Jeriquara, Bertioga.
