Description Disc 1 · 2011
14-15 cm. The adult's forehead to the middle of the crown are deep slate gray, paler on the head sides; posterior crown, hindneck and upper mantle bright rufous chestnut; lower mantle and the rest of upper side olive brown; the wing coverts and lower rump finely barred white; remiges fuscous; rectrices deep brown; throat, foreneck, breast and abdomen white, tinged gray on sides of chest; flanks and under tail coverts barred black and white; iris red, eyelids yellow; bill greenish and dusky; feet pale brown to yellowish buff.
