Description Disc 1 (2011)

56 - 66 cm. Wingspan 137 cm. Short tail, whitish area visible on underwing. Dull black, whitish patch at the base of the primaries: head and neck bare, skin wrinkled. Iris and feet dark brown, bill dusky with whitish tip. <nThe immature has the head and neck covered with small bristly feathers, not wrinkled.

Single, in pairs or some times in large groups in open country, near villages, cities, garbage dumps etc.

Common and ubiquitous from sea level to the mid mountain zone: avoids continuous forest.
