Description Disc 1 · 2011
14.5 - 16.0 cm. Above reddish brown with dark vermiculaton, the feathers of the crown and back with a black median spot; wing coverts barred and spotted with buff; remiges dark brown; whitish throat; underside buff, heavily barred with brown on the chest and sides; bill brown above and pale below; feet yellow orange.

Scrubby fields with bushes up to 1.5 meters high and a few trees. Also in drier, more open areas. ( 1 )

Extralimital. Almost extinct in Estado São Paulo. In 1994 recorded in Estacao Experimental de Itapetininga (http://www.iflorestsp.br/body.htm, see also Luiz Fernando Figueiredo, Luizfigueiredo@uol.com.br) by Olmos F. & Martuscelli (see 2).
