23.5 cm. Upperparts brownish olive, the foreface darker. Rump and lesser wing coverts bright yellow. Throat and chest dark brownish. Lower breast and belly yellow. Juveniles with brownish yellow throat and breast streaked blackish. Song variable | "grooeep-gruit-gruit" ^121 or longer warble vocalization 2, consisting of 8-10 fast following warbling notes . Call "chap", tshiuri, chira" vocalization 1 . Forages on the ground in groups. Not uncommon away from the coast in hilly open terrain, agricultural areas with some trees, and swamp land. Estado S<C4>o Paulo. Occurs mostly inland, e.g.<8E>Itarar<CA>, Rio Verde, Monte Aprazivel, Ananghai, Aracangua<8E>and many locations further inland ^119 : Itapetininga ^40 .
