18-19 cm. Light ashy brown, with a dusky mask. Wings rusty brown. Tail black. Call "zak", "ziu", zi" , "pie" and similar notes vocalization 1 . Forages on the ground in semiopen country. Perches on bushes and in trees. In small flocks of up to 25 birds. Not parasitic, building its own nest or appropriating nests of other species. Extralimital, in semiopen and lightly wooded areas, swamps, fields. Inland Estado S<C4>o Paulo. Can be expected to show up as a straggler.
