Wings gray with a white speculum. <NThe female has olive-brown upperparts, light brown undersides with a whitish belly. <NJuveniles have brownish upperparts, buffy underparts with a broad indistinct chest band. Song a sequence of "tui tui tui...." the single notes 1<10>2 sec apart. A better representation of the various songs of this species can be heard on ^38 . In pairs or flocks in grassy areas with trees on the ground or in trees. Rare in open dry forest with grass underneath, thickets, bushy savannahs, often near water.
