Description
13 cm. Back gray. In the male the lores and cheeks are sooty, the underparts whitish.
The female is greenish gray, lighter below, with white lores and cheeks.

Dawn song "tip-chic tip-chic tip-chic...', the female utters a 'ta a a a a a a a' in the duet after play back. (vocalization # 1).
Behavior
Forages in low bushes.
Habitat and status
Rare and local in open cerrado and rocky slopes with bushes; and open deciduous woodland.
Distribution
Inland, extralimital. Observed at Rincao, Rio Santa Barbara (119). 600-1200 meters
