18.5 cm. Adults are light brownish-gray above, somewhat paler gray below, with the center of belly white. Forehead, ear converts and bib black, the bib extending onto the chest. Bill gray with dark tip. <NImmature is olive above, paler yellow olive below with a yellow eye ring. Call a "zip". Song "o-chir-riper" repeated ^119 see vocalization 1. Apparently has another song consisting of 21 notes lasting 3.6 s ^119 . Pairs in trees and bushes foraging for insects and fruits. Open cup nest in low vegetation, Minas Gerais September ^159 . Might appear as a straggler closer to the coast, inhabits open cerrado, rocky dry slopes with few trees. Extralimital in the interior of Estado S<C4>o Paulo and Minas Gerais.
