18.5 cm. : Foreface black: crown brownish, sides of head cinnamon: bluish gray above: wings darker: underside buffy cinnamon: center of belly white, crissum cinnamon buff: flanks light grayish. Female with gray cheeks: bill gray with black tip. Calls | vocalization 2, a high pitched "psi", a "check", "zre" and a two syllabled "chedee". Song a brief melodious sequence of loud whistles listen to vocalization 1 and 3 . Forages in small to medium sized trees, sings from exposed perch. Minas Gerais, December ^159 .
