Blackpoll Warbler

13 cm. In non-breeding plumage is greenish gray above with black streaks. Wingbars white. Underside white with a greenish-yellow hue and grayish streaks, the center of belly and crissum white. <NMale in breeding plumage has a black crown and white cheeks. Upper parts olive with black streaking. Underside white with a black malar streak and streaked chest sides and flanks. Call a high pitched "zip". Song a very high frequency "si si si si si si si...". Forages high in crowns of trees, rarely close to the ground. A rare and unobtrusive winter visitor in open forest and borders, gardens with trees.
