12 cm. Bright olive above with rear part of crown gray. Underside whitish with wide olive yellow band across chest. Iris pale yellow. Legs and bill grayish pink. The characteristic song is a rapidly delivered "duit duit duit duit duit..." Forages in the crowns of trees. Found in mixed flocks. Locally common in open forest and edge, also scrub and low bush forest. In Estado Rio de Janeiro found in the<8E>Angra dos Reis<8E>area e.g.<8E>Pereque , Rio Muriae, Rio Paraiba, Sepetiba, Raiz da Serra foot of the<8E>Serra dos Org<C4>os<8E> on the road to<8E>Petropolis , Manguinhos N of Cabo Frio ^40 . In Estado S<C4>o Paulo we found it near<8E>Picinguaba<8E>. Below 600 meters 10743 Song. 10<10>17<10>99, Pereque, near Angra dos Reis. Sunny, 30<91>C. Open scrub, secondary forest.
