12.5 cm. The common greenlet of the coastal humid forests. Crown bright rufous: the rest of the upperparts bright olive. Underside yellowish. Grizzled gray face and forecrown with a diagnostic blackish auricular spot. Bill quite short with a dusky mandible. Eyes dark reddish brown. Call a "chek", song phrases consisting of 2 to three single syllables repeated rapidly up to 10 times. Interval between phrases about 0.1 s, frequency of phrases below 5 khz. Forages in the canopy of trees between 1 and 15 meters Accompanies mixed flocks. October-December. Common in coastal humid forests and also further away from the coast.
