34.5 cm. Plushlike feathers on forecrown. The rest of head, neck sides, throat and chest, black. A light blue spot above the eye. Moustache blue. Hindneck white turning into grayish brown on back. Tail blackish brown with white tips. Underparts white. A single syllable blue-jay-like "jeeer", a repeated "jep-jep" vocalization 1 and a high pitched "tik-tik" vocalization 2 . Forages in small groups in the crowns of forest trees. Dry forests, scrub and gallery forest. Extralimital. Reports from Estado S<C4>o Paulo are erroneous ^133 .
