18 cm. A small ruddy thrush with light underparts. Upper parts rufous brown. Below whitish. Whitish buff with indistinctly dark spots on the throat and chest. Narrow white eyering. Call a nasal "veiii-veii...." The distinctive nasal song seems to be not or only rarely given in the winter quarters. Frequents the lower strata of forest, border and scrub. North America. Uncommon winter visitor. Occurs in the months of the northern winter in forests of the interior ^119 . Records from Itu 32 km north of<8E>Sorocaba , Fazenda Intervales, and numerous records from northern Estado S<C4>o Paulo ^119 .
