Throat pink, without feathers. Breast band black. Belly white. On the male"s tail the outer pair of rectrices very elongated and reduced to the shaft at the proximal end: the distal end of the feathers has a broadened inner web which is turned 90<91> so that the elongated tail feathers are perpendicular and held below the rest of the tail. <NFemale is dark buffy above. Wings and tail darker. Below creamy white with a buffy breast band. The outer tail feathers are brown and somewhat shorter than in the male and form two round terminal racquets.
