Tropical Pewee

13 cm. Lower mandible yellow. Above gray-olive, lores lighter. Wings and tail dark gray with two paler wing bars. White throat. Breast and sides of the belly olive-gray. The center of upper belly and the whole lower belly are a lighter yellowish-white. Call a high "pii-piiep" or "piip". Song a repeated, fast "tsibew", the first syllable emphasized and the last syllable lower than the first. An aerial hawker of the forest canopy which makes sallies from exposed perches.
