Yellow-olive Flycatcher

14 cm. Iris dark brown. Mandible flesh-colored. Head grayish with an olive crest. A white superciliary stripe ending behind the eye, and a black eye stripe ending in a black crescent shaped ear spot coming together with a blackish malar stripe. Cheeks are variably grizzled with gray on yellowish ground. Above olive-green. Wings black with 2 yellow wing bars and yellow margins to the flight feathers. Below yellow, the chest and belly with a strong olive-gray wash. Tail rather long. Call in southeast Brazil is a characteristic rasping "zreeip.....zrreeiip......" ending in a higher pitch and frequently repeated several times.
