Ochre-faced Tody-Flycatcher

3.5 Eye dark. Crown grayish-black. Sides of head and cheeks buffy orange with a blackish ear spot. Olive-brown on the back, the wings darker with two buff wingbars and margins of the primaries. Below grayish-white with a white belly. More often recognized by its characteristic calls rather than by observation. The call is a low liquid "brrrrr-brrrr-brrrrr" etc. with variations. Within lower growth of scrub and tangles near forest border. Forages usually below eye level by performing frequent upward strikes and calling from time to time. All members of the genus /Todirostrum build oval-shaped nests with side entrance that are suspended at the top ^106 . A tody-flycatcher of dense upland scrub. Reasonably common in upland forest clearings, forest borders and wet scrub, but hard to see without playback.
