11 cm. A typical Phylloscartes, the tail is somewhat longer than in the color sketch. Area around eye and eye ring chestnut which is only clearly visible in adults. Iris white. Above yellow-olive. Wings without any wing bars, the wing feathers edged yellow. Throat yellow. Belly white, the crissum tinged buffy. Calls are a sharp "zick-zizik" cut 1 and 5 , a high "swiswiswiswiswiswiswiswi....." or a "swiswideswiswiswiswiswiswi.." Forages by upward strike gleaning in the canopy of humid forest. A nest of this species on the Corisco trail in October 1999 see picture 2 was a pocket hanging from a branch with a side entrance. Uncommon in the canopy of humid forest and borders.
