10 cm. A small green long-tailed Phylloscartes flycatcher of primary forest. Olive green above, the cheeks, lores and narrow superciliary stripe yellow, A narrow black malar stripe and ear crescent. Wings dusky greenish lacking distinct wing bars. Below dull yellow, clouded olive on the breast. The call is a hard "tsi-eet" with emphasis on the first syllable or a "tsi-i-eet" consisting of three syllables. Forages in the interior of rain forest at medium to low level from 2-6 meters. On October 21, 1994 we found a nest of this species hanging over a small river in dense secondary rain forest on the Ilha do Cardoso. The nest was a pocket with a side entrance Remold HG, Ramos Neto M, Mueller F, unpubl. . Locally common in the interior of dense humid secondary and primary rain forest. This species is listed as "vulnerable" because of the large reduction of suitable habitat ^103 . Almost endemic to Brazil. Encountered near<8E>Parati, Ubatuba, Fazenda Intervales, Ilha do Cardoso<8E>and in<8E>PE Jacupiranga<8E>and<8E>Jureia<8E> State Parks. To 800 meters at<8E>Fazenda Intervales<8E>.
