The far carrying call is an unique syncopated sequence of low whistles "pip-pip-pip-pipipip-pip-pip" and similar strophes.
Forages in the middle and lower stratum of forest trees. Gleans insects and fruits. Accompanies mixed bird flocks.
Rare in humid primary forest or mature secondary forest. Found in Araucaria forest in the south ^30 .
