Voice
Similar to Chiroxiphia caudata "Sveik-dedo-dedo..... wi..... tirrrrrrrr..... wi.... tirrrrrrrrr." Several other calls can be heard on the tape casette "Ecuador, more bird vocalizations from the lowland rain forest, by J. V. Moore, Vol. 1".
Behavior
Inside forest, from ground level to tree tops, searching for fruits.
Habitat and status
Rare in humid primary and secondary rain forest, up to 750 meters (44).
Distribution
Mostly extralimital, was reported from Nova Friburgo, Estado Rio de Janeiro (40).
