The account
Description
12 cm. Male is slaty-brown above with a white superciliary. Wings black, the wing-coverts spotted white forming two white wing bars. Black cheeks. Below black, the sides of neck, chest and belly white forming a band leading from the superciliary. Tail black with white spots.
Female is like the male above. Cheeks grayish streaked. White throat. Below buff.
