Streaked Xenops

12 cm. Bill with straight culmen, Xenops-like , appears upturned. A long white superciliary and a conspicuous white malar stripe below the brown cheek. Sepia-brown above with narrow buffy white streaks on the mantle which become broader and more cinnamon on the nape. Wings with a rusty stripe through the primaries. Chin and throat white, otherwise brownish below with dull white streaks becoming more ochraceous on the crissum. Tail rufous. <NThe immature plumage is less distinct in pattern. a high "zui zui zui" or a high "zizizizizi". Foraging along limbs and tangles of trees at all levels.
