5.5 Uniformly olive-brown above with rufous wing coverts and primaries. A white chin spot and a black throat patch. Below slaty gray, the lower flanks olivaceous. Tail chestnut-brown. <NImmature is similar to the adult, but paler and with a less distinct throat patch. The chest and belly of the immature bird are grayish white with light brown flammulated streaking. The flanks are light brown as in the adult and the center of the abdomen is buffy white ^50 . Song "sii du dit" several times repeated, the second syllable with a somewhat lower pitch. Can also be heard on ^11. Inside undergrowth of dense humid forest, difficult to see. Uncommon in the understory of humid highland forest, not associated with forest borders and frequently far away from the forest edge.
