6.3 A pale spinetail of grassy areas. Above light grayish olivaceous-brown, including forehead, remainder of crown orange rufous. Wing coverts rusty-brown. Below whitish, black gular patch, flanks becoming olivaceous-brown, abdomen whitish. Tail olivaceous-brown. <NImmature plumage brown on crown similar as back. Below ochraceous-buff, more brownish on the flanks and breast. The gular patch is less well defined ^41 . Song "we<CA>-brrrri", on approximately the same pitch, endlessly repeated. Can also be heard on ^113. Rare in scrubby open areas and borders of grassland, hedgerows and moist meadows. To be expected throughout in dryer inland areas, e. g. on the inland slopes of the mountains, not close to coast. Recorde from <8E>Mogi das Cruzes February 1933, ^40 .
