16 cm . Green, brighter underneath. Forehead and face yellow. Scapulars olive brown. Rump blue. Flight feathers dark brown. Lateral tail feathers greenish yellow with black tips. Call a grating high pitched "cra cra cra cra cra" . Forages in the canopy of trees in groups. Rare and irregular in lowland primary and secondary rainforest and edge. Sandplain forest on the Ilha do Cardoso. In Estado Rio de Janeiro recorded from <8E>Rio de Janeiro<8E>city 1848 , Nova Friburgo before 1891 , Cabo Frio 1970 , Mage 1984 , Desengano State Park 1987, 1988 , Itatiaia 1988 , Teresopolis 1954 . In Estado Sao Paulo recorded from<8E>Boraceia 1935, 1987 , Ilha do Cardoso 1991 ^122 . Up to 900 meters in the foothills of the littoral. An endangered species due to deforestation ^122 . 11755 V.
