20-25 cm. Green with yellowish on the underparts and underside of tail. Bases of primaries blue. Outer secondary coverts bright yellow.

Forages in canopy of trees and tall shrubs in pairs or small groups.

Common inland in borders of dry forest, caatinga, gallery forest, and open woodland.
