20-25 cm. Green with yellowish on the underparts and underside of tail. Bases of primaries blue. Outer secondary coverts bright yellow. Call "Tiri tiri tiri.." ,tiriri tiriri..." Alarm call "trrrrrrrr" , 18 notes per sec [vocalization 2 . Forages in canopy of trees and tall shrubs in pairs or small groups. January. Common inland in borders of dry forest, caatinga, gallery forest, and open woodland.
