23-28 cm. Forehead to midcrown orange, hindcrown dull blue. Upper parts green. Underside greenish-yellow. Medium pitched single calls intermingled with higher screeches. Forages in flocks in trees or high scrub. September-December. Not uncommon in cerrado, bushy savannah, gallery forest, palm groves, gardens, swamps with trees. Occurs inland in Estado S<C4>o Paulo and Minas Gerais. No records from coastal areas are known to me, but on January 3rd, 2005, I saw 1 adult in coastal scrub near <8E>Guaratiba, SW of Rio de Janeiro unpublished .
